James Earl Jones(Darth Vader)

James Earl Jones, Star Wars filmlerinde yüzü hiç gözükmemesine rağmen, milyonlar tarafından Darth Vader’ın derin ve tehditkar sesi olarak biliniyor. Onun aktörlük kariyeri ona hem tiyatroda hem sinemada alkışlar kazandırdı ve o eğlence endüstrisinin en çok saygı duyulan profesyonellerinden biri.

Jones 17 Ocak 1931’de Mississippi’de doğdu. Çocukken kekeleme problem vardı ve bununla mücadele etti. Michigan Üniversitesini bitirdi ve Broadway’de oyunculuğa başladı. 1959’da The Great White Hope’taki paralı asker rolüyle Tony ödülü kazandı. Martin Ritt’in bu oyunu filme çevirmesinde rol aldı ve 1971’de Akademi Ödülleri’ne aday oldu. George C. Scott (Patton)’a kaybetmesine rağmen adaylık onun sinemadaki güvenilirliğini geliştirdi. 1970’lerde sayısız sinema ve televizyon projesinde görüldü, ama dönüm noktası Star Wars oldu. Birçok film seyircisi onun sesini sonsuza dek Darth Vader’ın siyah kaskı ile hatırlayacak. Birçok ödül kazanan beysbol klasiği Field Of Dreams (1989)’de Kevin Costner ile oynadı. Onun öteki başarılar CNN’de çalışması ve Disney’in yaptığı tüm zamanların en başarılı animasyonu The Lion King’de King Mufasa’yı seslendirmesi oldu.
